Privacy Notice
In short
- We collect what we need to run Catvu: your Discord sign-in, the IMVU account and rooms you connect, and your subscription records.
- Payments are handled by Paddle (our Merchant of Record) or PayPal. We never see your full card number.
- We don't sell personal data and we don't use advertising or analytics cookies.
- You can ask us to see, correct or delete your data at support@catvu.live.
01Who is responsible for your data
Catvu, an independent service run by a sole proprietor, is the controller of the personal data described in this notice. Privacy contact: support@catvu.live.
For orders placed through our checkout, Paddle.com is our Merchant of Record and handles your payment data as an independent controller under Paddle's privacy notice.
02What we collect
When you sign in with Discord
Your Discord user ID, username, display name, avatar and email address, and when you first and last signed in. When you sign in, we may also add you to the Catvu Discord server; you can leave it at any time.
What you connect and set up
The IMVU username and account ID you link, the rooms you add to the bot, your bot and room settings, and any IMVU username you choose to hide from the site.
Subscriptions and payments
Your plan, its status and renewal dates, and the Paddle or PayPal subscription and order IDs. Paddle or PayPal processes your payment details; we don't receive your full card number. For an order, we can see the payer name and email address that Paddle or PayPal holds.
The bot in your rooms
A Catvu bot receives the chat messages and join and leave events in the IMVU rooms where it is active, so it can answer commands and play requests. If a room owner turns on chat analytics for their room, the bot keeps that room's chat lines and join and leave events so the owner can view them.

Some Catvu pages show information about IMVU users that can be seen on IMVU: usernames, avatar names and pictures, profile details, the rooms people were seen in and when, who was in a room at the same time, and outfits and furniture visible in rooms. This includes IMVU users who don't use Catvu. Section 8 explains how to ask us to stop showing your information.
Technical data
Your IP address, browser type, the pages you request and when, recorded in our server logs.
Optional AI features
When someone uses an AI feature, such as AI greetings, the text needed for the reply is sent to an AI provider to generate the answer. That can include a chat message, an IMVU username, a profile tagline or an avatar picture.

Emails and Discord messages you send to support.

04Who we share it with
- Paddle.com, our Merchant of Record, for orders through our checkout.
- PayPal, for subscriptions started through PayPal.
- Our hosting provider, OVHcloud, which runs our servers.
- Discord, for sign-in and our community server.
- IMVU, because the bot acts in your IMVU rooms on your instructions.
- AI providers (currently Google, Groq and Mistral), only for the AI features described above.
- Cloudinary, which hosts some of the images on our site, and Google Fonts, which serves the fonts on some pages (your browser connects to it directly).
- Professional advisers, such as accountants, when needed; authorities when the law requires it; and a buyer if the business is ever sold.
We don't sell your personal data, and we don't show ads.
05Where it is stored
Our servers are in Canada and the European Union. Some of the providers above are in other countries, including the United States. Where the law requires it, these transfers are protected by safeguards such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision.
06How long we keep it
- Account and connection data: while you use Catvu, and afterwards only as long as needed for the purposes above.
- Subscription and payment records: as long as tax and accounting law requires.
- Server logs: 14 days.
- Room chat analytics: while the room owner uses the feature, unless you ask us to delete them sooner (section 8).
- IMVU room information: while it is useful for the site's room history features. You can ask us to hide or delete information about you (section 8).
07Cookies
We use only cookies that the site needs to work:
- a sign-in cookie for catvu.live;
- a short-lived cookie (10 minutes) that protects the Discord sign-in step;
- a sign-in cookie for the Music Bot dashboard (
catvu_sid).
Some settings are also kept in your browser's local storage. We don't use advertising or analytics cookies.
08Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask us to:
- give you a copy of your personal data (access and portability);
- correct it;
- delete it;
- restrict or object to how we use it, including us showing information about you;
- withdraw any consent you gave.
Email support@catvu.live to make a request. It's free, and we reply within one month. We may need to confirm it's you first. You can also complain to the data protection authority in your country.
09Security
The site is served only over HTTPS. Access to our servers is restricted, and payment details stay with Paddle and PayPal. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and will tell you, as the law requires, if a breach affects you.
10Children
Catvu is not meant for children under 13, or under the minimum age IMVU and Discord set where you live. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we'll delete it.
11Changes and contact
